A Theatre of Art, Ideology and Labor
This project inspired by the debate about anti-capitalism discourse in punk communities in Indonesia. The debate emerges when an international punk festival organizer got sponsored by 7-Eleven convenience store that considered by some punks as a capitalist corporation but its also commonly known as a meeting place for punks.
A cleaning service ‘company’ created with some punks to cleaning up 7-Eleven stores in Jakarta. It operate in a dramaturgical action (their role as artist) yet appropriating a company working system (their role as labor). It’s a self-reflection to re-thinking the ideology contradictions towards capitalism thas has been pervasive in the daily life practices.
