Hacking Conflict

Biennale Jogja XIII

A curatorial project for the Main Exhibition program of Biennale Jogja XIII 2015. The theme is loosely based on the agonism, a political theory that emphasizes the potentially positive aspects of conflict. It accepts a permanent place for such conflict, but seeks to show how we might accept and channel this positively. This project invites 23 visual artists, theatre directors, musicians, choreographer, writer, designer, cultural activist and book editor from Indonesia and Nigeria to work collaboratively through a series of focus discussion group.

The exhibition site turned into a social-engage platform to explore the production of mass opinions and experimentations with conflict using open forum collaboration and experimental working practices for public to generate and distribute public discourse.
